I left the hospital. I didn't leave the medicine.

I started out analyzing records. A firm sends me a case, I read all of it, and I tell them what the medicine shows. That's Pre-Litigation Analysis. I've done it for three years for attorneys in more than thirty states, and it's still some of the most useful work I do.

What kept happening is that it arrived late. By the time a firm sent me a record, they'd already spent what it costs to get that far. The medical question that would have been cheapest to answer was the one nobody could ask.

That's changed on the firm's side. Most cases now come with a summary the firm generated itself, which means there's something to talk about on day one — not a substitute for reading the records, but enough to have the conversation that used to have to wait.

The firms that got the most out of me were the ones I worked with more than once. Not because the analysis got better. Because they stopped sending me finished questions and started asking me while they were still deciding.

Three years of this built something else too. Specialists across the country will take a case from me because they know a physician read the request before it reached them. That's the network a membership opens.
